End of Winter Sport for 2025

homeAfter a very close match, my team won the grand final and we won the Tier 2 championship for Mens Hockey. It was an awesome game, we came out strong and scored 2 goals in the first half, they caught us napping in the 2nd half and scored 2 goals to bring us even and then in the last quarter we scored to take the lead. It really came down to the last few minutes as they had a series of short corners which is how they had scored their goals so far in the match. Some amazing keeping from our goalie and we managed to hold them out for the win.
Presentation night was fantastic and I was very happy to receive the coaches award in addition to the championship medal - we have won 2 times in the past 3 years so looking forward to try and retain the crown next year as well. In the mean time I have agreed to play in a local summer competition in order to keep my skills up and to get some exercise during the week. This will be the first time playing in the competition so I'm kind of apprehensive to be playing with a team of mostly strangers but summer competitions tend to be a bit more laid back and games are on Friday nights so I will still have the whole weekend which will be nice.
My boys also had their presentation nights, both receiving trophies. It was really great to see them up on stage and enjoying themselves with the rest of their teams. I think this is the first sport that my middle boy has got to the end of the season and is thinking of playing again. He has played Basketball and cricket in the past but soccer I think is what he enjoys best. Youngest has enjoyed playing NRL but I think he might be gravitating towards soccer as well. Still a bit of time to decide so we will see how it goes next year. In the mean time, I am really enjoying spending time outside kicking the ball to each other. With spring in full swing and summer on the horizon, I am very much looking forward to spending more time outside with the kids.
