November Update
29 Nov 2022
homeI feel like a lot has happened since the last time I wrote and I had the intention to write some of it down but just as I put fingers to the keyboard other priorities have claimed my attention so rather than cancel the entire post, I will make it brief!
After the purchase of Twitter by Elon and the subsequent dumpster fire and mass exodus of users (although to be honest I haven't noticed much difference to the experience prior to the acquisition - maybe I just don't use it enough?! Maybe thats not such a bad thing?), I joined Mastodon @glammr.us@Optimapress. I'm still learning the ropes and my feed is a lot more librarian themed than it was on twitter, which is good but obviously I am not thinking about journals and textbooks 24/7 so I still need to find some people with common interests outside of libraries. Its a work in progress but enjoying I am enjoying the journey.
In an effort to make things interesting and a bit more visual, I'm trying to include photos wherever I can. I recently had the opportunity to travel to Sydney for work - it has been a while since I walked the streets of the CBD - I used to do it daily for a number of years and while it felt a bit nostalgic to be dwarfed once again by the mega-towers and to dodge through the stream of people on the streets, it also made me pause and appreciate the more peaceful rural setting we moved to. This photo is of the view out of my hotel room looking up the street towards where I used to work, once-upon-a-time.
