First post using Eleventy.

This is my first post using Eleventy. I was using Wordpress (all previous posts were copied across where possible) and while it was super simple and provided a huge range of customisation options, there is still a small price associated with maintaining a blog. It's not a huge price but I have since found Netlify and Eleventy which is completely free!

Netlify and Eleventy allow you to create a site with custom templates all contained within Github. It's been a great learning experience. I love to tinker and I find the code is not so complex that I can't figure out how it works (most of the time) but at the same time it has allowed me to play and build on the 'out of the box' functionality.

Still coming to terms with using Github to edit everything. Wordpress makes it a lot easier if you are interested in just writing, it also makes sharing and commenting on other blogs easy but this blog is more for me to review and reflect. I am also enjoying the coding aspect which I'm hoping will provide some motivation for writing more than I would normally do (which is very rarely!).
